The Power Of Visit

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and this weekend, my husband and I will be visiting his Auntie Aiko who lives in a nursing home. And we’re really looking forward to it, because we both know how much our visit will bless her. Yep, a visit can be a powerful blessing. In fact, even God visits. When Zechariah spoke of the Messiah’s coming, he said, “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited and redeemed His people.” God even visits. And it’s why He tells us that pure religion is to visit orphans and widows in their affliction. And Jesus states that visiting is an indispensable mark of a true follower, for He says in Matthew 25, “Come into the kingdom prepared for you, for I was sick … and you visited me.” Yep, it’s true that followers of Jesus worship and preach and sing and pray and serve. But they should also visit! Is there an Auntie Aiko in your life? Then please, plan a visit.
