The Lonely Have Families

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Occasionally, when California is terribly hot, I like to recall cold wintry days on our Maryland farm. treasure the times that my sister Jay and I would sit by the fire, harmonizing hymns, and enjoying cold milk with her famous spice cake... oh there’s nothing like a sister’s loveWell, Psalm 68 says that “God sets the lonely in families,” and after my accident, when I was lonely and so discouraged, Jay was there. I still thank her for all the months she invested in my care.

Friend, God puts us in families for a reason. The siblings we get along with are an encouragement. The others we don’t get along with, well, God puts them in our lives to refine us, and teach us how to love even when that love is not returned. So, bless God for your family, and remember he also placed you in their lives so that you can help them grow spiritually, as well.

God’s Power in Weakness
