The Inescapable Trap

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and for me, sometimes joint pain in my back keeps me up at night. I’ve tried everything, and nothing’s helped. And sometimes, I can feel so trapped, especially because of my paralysis but I gotta believe God’s gonna make a way! And I draw courage from Exodus 14, verse 2 where God orders Moses to “Tell the Israelites to turn back and encamp between Migdol and the sea. Camp there along the shore.” What? God purposefully led his people into an inescapable trap – mountains to the left and right, a murderous Pharaoh closing in from behind, and a deep, wide sea in front of them. The only answer would have to be a miraculous one… and it was. God parted the Red Sea and led his people out.

So, friend, if you feel trapped, God may have purposefully led you there. But remember the lesson of Exodus 14. For as you trust in him, God is gonna make a way.
