Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and peekaboo, I see you! Remember playing that when you were a kid? Well, I still get a kick when I play that game with children. But I tell you, it was a different story in my teenage years. When I would rush out the door with friends, my dad would say, “Joni, I want you to act as though your mother and I were watching.” Well, I did not like the idea of someone playing “peekaboo, I see you” during those rowdy, growing-up, wild years. But now, I am comforted by the idea that someone is always watching; I like the idea that God never takes his eyes off of you and me. Our lives are an open book before the Lord. Genesis 16 puts it this way; it says, “You are the God who sees me.” Friend, don’t let that intimidate you. No, let it be a good reminder that God is present in every event of your life. His compassionate, caring eyes are upon you, for he is the God who sees you.
