The Celestial Shore
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and there’s a lot being said these days about the goals we make as believers. Yet, it’s not so much that Christians should have a goal; the truth is, every Christian already has a goal. And a clear one. Philippians chapter 3 describes that finish line. Paul says, “I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.” Oh, friend, that’s my goal, and I hope it’s yours, too. Christ has reached down from heaven and gripped me, and so, I fix my heart and reach up; I strive, I press on to take hold of that for which Christ took hold of me. And on that day, I’ll finally cross the finish line; collapse at the feet of Jesus; hold onto his ankles; kiss his feet; then I’ll lean back; raise my hands, and in tears say, “Thank you, Jesus. I am home.” Oh, what a wonderful moment it’ll be for us all. So, today, join me please in pressing toward that goal.
