Thank God for Pain

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and it’s not often that I thank God for my chronic pain, but I’m sure thanking him now. Because when I was going through tests to find a way to relieve my pain, one of them happened to show … cancer! We weren’t even looking for cancer, but the tests revealed a small tumor on my chest wall, and once we found out how fast it was going, my husband Ken and I shook our heads, and said, “We never would have found that cancer had it not been for my pain.”

It’s a great example of Romans 8:28 and how God works out even awful things, painful things for a good we could never imagine. Who would have thought I would count as a blessing, such a nasty thing as chronic pain? God is working out everything for his good in the lives of us all, every day. Need more convincing?
