Strength in Weakness
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And you probably know a few people who are disabled, but did you ever stop to think that Jesus Himself was handicapped? You see, a handicap is any encumbrance that makes success more difficult to achieve – and that’s exactly what Jesus did. Although He was God, He made Himself nothing. That’s one severe handicap, don’t you think? And it put Him at a disadvantage. Yet it was through His very weakness that the Lord was able to triumph. And Christ has set an example for us to do the same. There may be encumbrances in your life that make success more difficult to achieve, but remember: When you are weak, He is strong! Friend, your handicap is your key to God’s power.
So, if you’re struggling today, know that you are in an elite fellowship with Jesus Christ, the one who chose to be handicapped for your sake; so that you would have His power.
