Straight Paths
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And when you are in a wheelchair, there is nothing nicer than wheeling on a straight smooth path or a sidewalk that’s not full of twists and turns. But you don’t have to be in a wheelchair – we’d all like to have straight paths, right? Well, Proverbs 3 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him; and He will make your paths straight.” That’s true, but you know what, the path might not be easy; it’ll be straight, but it might also be steep and bumpy and full of cracks, but you can at least know that it is straight! Even if the road of your life is difficult, trusting God guarantees that the road will not be any longer than He plans, and that your progress won’t be any slower than He purposes.
So, don’t doubt or complain; trust the Lord and find yourself happily arriving at His destination – right on time on a straight path.
