Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I have always been fascinated by the nighttime sky. You know, if I’m outside in the evening and the sky is clear, I always look up at the stars. That’s why Psalm 19 is a favorite where it says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” And then Daniel 12 says, “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.” I like that idea of shining like a star; of declaring the glory of God. I want to be one of the wise; one of those who shines like a star and proclaims the work of his hands. Oh, friend, what a destiny awaits us, right? But hey, don’t wait for eternity for it to happen – get a head start now. Proclaim the works of his hands! Declare the glory of God! Lead others to righteousness! For when you do, God will think, and he’ll say, “Here’s my shining star!”
