Sharing the Message

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and years ago, I served on the Disability Advisory Committee to the U.S. Secretary of State. We advised Condoleezza Rice on disability concerns in other countries, so that she might have a clear understanding of the plight of special needs families. Our committee showed her a sensitive film revealing the abuse of disabled young people in a particular institution in Serbia. It so moved me, that I shared this same film with our team at Joni and Friends. Once we saw the terrible need, we immediately began planning for an International Family Retreat in Serbia, encouraging Christian volunteers there to reach out to the kids in that depressing institution. It opened the eyes of the Serbian church, helping them see that kids with disabilities are made in the image of God. It’s a message that more countries need to hear, so help us share that message at joniandfriends.org. I’m Joni Eareckson Tada.
