Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Years ago, I memorized Psalm 100, and I often repeat it out loud when I am praying. Reciting the word of God is, I think, a great way to employ His language in our prayers. And I love that part of Psalm 100 that says, “Serve the Lord with gladness.” Friend, the Lord wants us to serve Him – no, actually, He commands us to serve Him – with a happy heart. God doesn’t get much glory when we serve Him with a grumpy attitude. No, He’s looking for a glad attitude. And it’s why I always appreciate the happy people who volunteer at a Joni and Friends Family Retreat. Look, families with special needs have enough problems without dealing with a helper who has a grumpy disposition. As Christians, you and I have every reason to be glad, and we need Christians with glad hearts to sign up and serve with us at Family Retreats. Get all the details at joniandfriends.org, (chuckles) a really happy place.

At Family Retreat, families are cared for, encouraged, and rejuvenated in an accessible camp environment. The success of our Family Retreats depends largely on having enough “helping hands” to serve the special needs families who attend, and we need your help!
