Seek After Love

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And when it comes to love, you cannot beat 1 Corinthians 13. But I want you to consider that lust is love’s opposite. You see, love is patient and can always wait to give. But lust? It’s impatient; it can’t wait to get. Love is never self-seeking, but lust always puts itself first. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth; lust likes to cover up things. It twists the truth, and it delights in white-washing evil to make it look acceptable. Do you see how lust is really indeed the opposite of love? And it’s why God wants us to have His love in our hearts. Lust will never fulfill your longings, friend; it’ll only leave you more unsatisfied. But love will meet every one of your desires – after all, God is love. So, put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature and seek after love. Seek after God.
