Remember His Provision
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And don’t you love it when praise to God just effervesces? Like in Exodus 15 – it’s one long song of worship after God opened a path through the Red Sea – twenty-one verses of pure praise! But get this – just three verses later, their joy turned sour. It’d only been several days since the parting of the Red Sea, and here they were, in the desert without water, grumbling against Moses. They ran into a little trouble about water and they had forgotten what God had just done with a whole sea of it. It was as if the miracle of the Red Sea had never happened. You know, too often we forget the miracles God has done in our lives. We forget how He has provided for us. Take the advice God gave those Israelites in Deuteronomy 4:9: “Be careful, watch yourself closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen.” God provided for you in the past and He’ll keep providing in the future.
