I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and lately, I have been hearing a lot of complaining. Not so much from unbelievers – we already know that the world does its share of grumbling. No, I’m talking about Christians. We come out of church on Sunday morning picking apart the sermon, griping about the music. But the book of Jude says this; it says, “See, the Lord is coming…to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him. Now get this – here it comes – “These men are grumblers and faultfinders.” Oh, my goodness. The word ungodly is used four times to describe, not murderers, not adulterers, but grumblers and faultfinders. So, friend, today you may see wrongdoing that needs to be exposed, but make sure it’s legitimate and not just your complaining spirit. Others may grumble, but as a Christian, don’t you dare.
