Puumi’s Perfect Gift

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and recently my husband Ken volunteered on a Wheels for the World trip, where he met Puumi, a 13-year-old boy in Thailand with cerebral palsy. Now, in Thailand, Puumi’s disability is considered shameful; he was abandoned when he was only a baby. And since then, Puumi has lived with his grandmother, and she works hard to keep food on the table. There wasn’t a lot of hope for Puumi and his grandmom, until our Wheels for the World volunteers lifted him gently into a wheelchair and fitted it perfectly to him. Later Puumi and his grandmom received a new Bible in the Thai language, and they listened as our team shared the gospel. My husband Ken watched all this and came home crying tears of Thanksgiving. Do you want to experience a huge blessing like that? Then join a Wheels for the World team at joniandfriends.org and serve children with disabilities, just like Puumi.
