I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Have you ever pleaded with God in prayer? The dictionary definition of pleading is to present your case, like in a court. When you and I plead to God in prayer, we approach the courts of heaven and come prepared to defend our petitions for God to act out his will in a certain way. We back up our prayers with Scripture; after all, God asks us to plead with hm in Isaiah chapter 1 where he says: “‛Come now, let us reason together,’ says the Lord.” That’s the way I like to pray when I plead on behalf of people with disabilities. I know God has a special heart for those who suffer affliction, and I’d love to plead that before God in prayer, telling him how I believe he will be glorified as he pours out his mercy on them. So, next time you pray, try defending your case in prayer. It’s a bold thing to do. But remember, he’s the One who said, “Come now, let us reason together.”
