Passing on the Encouragement

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I love that quote from John Piper. I’ve written it many times in notes to friends. I do that a lot. I collect favorite quotations, stanzas from hymns, or phrases from sermons. I do this because I am often the one who receives encouraging quotes from others. I collect those quotes and simply pass on the encouragement to friends in need.
Like, the other day I shared John Piper’s quote with a friend who has Stage 4 cancer. She was so blessed, she’s passing those good words on to her doctor and nurses. Ephesians says that we should share wholesome or edifying words that build others up, so start a collection of favorite scriptures and quotations. Because every day there will be more than many chances to pass the encouragement on.
