Our Purpose
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And have you ever wondered why God created you? Well, he spelled it out plainly in Isaiah 43. Because there God says, “Bring my sons [and my daughters] from afar — everyone who is called by my name, people whom I created for my glory.” Don’t you love that? He created you and me for one purpose: for his glory, to showcase his glory, to enjoy it, to demonstrate it and shine it out every day. How do we do that? Well, by highlighting his character qualities. Because God is invisible. And in the Old Testament, whenever he wanted to display his glory, his character, he did so through something visible like a burning bush. In the New Testament, God displayed his glory through Jesus. And now? How does an invisible God display his glory? Through you. You are Christ’s representative.
So, remember that today. You’re his burning bush. When people look at you and talk to you, they should see Jesus.
