Our Peace Treaty
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. When Christ revealed His resurrection, He surprised everyone when, according to John 20, He appeared in the middle of a gloomy room filled with pessimistic people, and He announced, “Peace be with you!” This wasn’t your ordinary greeting! But it was another way of saying, “Friends, there is no longer enmity; no longer division; no longer a gulf between God and man. The war is over, and I am your peace treaty with my Father. And now, you are invited to call Him Father, too!” Whoa, what an announcement! And it was a peace treaty signed in blood.
Oh, friend, think of how desperate our world is for peace; think of the many troubled souls you know who need the peace of Christ. Today, announce to those you know that the peace has been secured. And if anyone wants proof? Simply point people to the wounds of your Savior.
