Name Jesus on Your Cross

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and listen to these wise words by Charles Spurgeon. He says, “I would never hold up Pilate as an example to you, save in this one thing; he placed the Name of Jesus on the cross. Writing these words with his own hand, and nailing them over the cross, Pilate refused to alter them: “Jesus of Nazareth the King of the Jews. For once, the vacillating governor stuck to the truth, and would not be driven from it. We can learn something from him.

Whenever you have a cross to bear, write the Name of Jesus, the King, above it, and stand firmly on what you have written. Bear your cross for Jesus, with Jesus, and after Jesus. He is so united to us anyway, that all our crosses are his own.” What a great insight from Spurgeon. When I recently read it, it was just what I needed to hear. And today, I hope his wise words encourage you, too.
