My Champion And Advocate
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I think my husband Ken is just the greatest. I love him for many reasons: he’s my champion; he’s my advocate.
When I have a medical appointment, Ken Tada’s always there with his spiral notebook, making notes, jotting down the names of medications, always listing my vital signs. Stuff that my head just doesn’t absorb, especially when I’m feeling poorly. And usually, before each appointment, Ken sits down with me and that notebook and he writes out all our questions to ask, leaving no stone unturned. And if he sees my gaze wandering, he says, “Joni, this is important. We’ve got to do this. You’ve got to help here.” It’s one way he comes alongside, shoulder to shoulder, to share my burden.
Friend, is there someone today that you can come alongside of to give this sort of help? When you do, you’ll be a champion; you’ll be an advocate, and you will be the very hands of God. I’m Joni Eareckson Tada.
