Magnify the Lord

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson TadaOne of my favorite verses is “Magnify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together.” What does that mean? Well, I remember the time when Ken and I went to the basketball playoffs at the Staples Center. We had a hard time seeing the players on the court. From where we were seated, they looked so smallWe were really glad for those big jumbo screens which allowed us to see the players and their expressionsThing is, the magnification did not actually make the players bigger, they just seemed biggerAnd it’s the same when we magnify the Lord. We don’t change anything about Him, we just “enlarge” Him in the world’s eyes so that they can see Him betterTo the world, God looks very small – so, hey, let’s magnify Him through our deeds and words of praiseBecause when we trust and obey Him, we can’t help but make God look very large to everyone watching
