Lead Me to the Rock

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and it was an awesome view…in the pristine air of the Sierra Mountains, a thin moon clung to the horizon right above the chiseled features of Crystal Crag above Lake George. And I felt overwhelmed by the greatness of God; and I kept thinking This is what the Bible means when it speaks of God as a Mighty Fortress. God’s Word spends a lot of time reminding us of how great and how awesome God is. It also spends a lot of time reminding us that we’re not great and we’re not awesome. We are lowly and powerless compared to God. But God’s Word doesn’t want us to feel crushed or intimidated by that. No, it’s to show us that God is our refuge — our hiding place.

So friend, in this crazy world, you may feel overwhelmed, but today, ask God to lead you to the Rock, the Crystal Crag, that is higher than you. Because he is your Mighty Fortress and your Hiding Place.
