Jose’s Wheelchair

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I love Psalm 113 where it says “[God] … lifts the needy from the dump to seat them with… the princes of his people.” That makes me think of kids like Jose. We met him in Haiti when we did a Wheels for the World outreach in his hometown. Jose was only six years old when a brick wall fell on him, and both his legs were smashed. His dad rushed him to the hospital, but there they waited hours only to find that the doctor could only cast one leg, not both. There simply was not enough gauze and plaster to set this child’s other broken leg. Thankfully, our Wheels for the World team provided Jose with a pediatric wheelchair and we connected the family with a caring church and a Bible in their own language. It showed Jose and his daddy that God cares. Discover how you can care and help families like Jose’s at joniandfriends.org.
