Ever since the days of Job, it’s been a struggleHi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I’m talking about suffering that’s so badyou wish you were deadIt’s the way Job thought.

In Job chapter 3, he said his life was too painful to liveFirst, he says he’s sorry he was ever bornThen later, he says, “I want to die now.” But near the end of the book of Job, when God finally speaks into the situationJob realizes that his death wish was foolishHe says, I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me.” Job learned that life is worth living.

There are always hopeful possibilities when youre alive, but once youre dead, that’s itIt’s overThere’s no chance of changeSo, friend, as Job chapter 42 says, “we know nothing” when it comes to life’s value. So, if you’re toying with the idea, forget that death wishLife is always worth living, because it’s that precious.
