He Gives More Grace
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and every morning on the way to the headquarters of Joni and Friends, I like to sing hymns in the van as Ken drives the freeway. Last week, I was having a hard time in my wheelchair, and I chose to sing a hymn about God’s grace. The words really invigorated my weary soul, and so, I’m gonna share them with you; because, the hymn goes: “He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater, He sendeth more strength when the labors increase; To added afflictions He addeth his mercy, To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.” Oh, friend, God’s peace will be multiplied to you if, when you are weary, you sing of His grace. It’s what Jesus did in Matthew 26 right before He went to the cross; just hours before He died, He was singing a hymn. So, if you are suffering, if your soul is weary, sing a hymn of praise before the day is out, and you’ll have God’s peace.
