Green Pastures

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and last Friday night when I got out of my wheelchair, I realized a pressure sore was developing on my sitting bone  and it meant I would have to stay in bed all weekend. Even though Ken was out of town, I didn’t mind. That is, until our DirecTV went on the blink — and Ken was not around to fix the television. So there I was, two and a half days in bed with Ken gone and no TV. But you know, it was okay! I realized God was forcing me, He was pushing me, “making me to lie down in green pastures,” as it says in Psalm 23. And he was doing so… to restore my soul. Thankfully, several friends were able to visit and help out; and you know what? I think their souls got restored and refreshed, too. It can happen when you help someone like me who has a disability. Need some ideas on what to do? Then drop by joniandriends.org and see how your soul can be refreshed through service to people with disabilities just like me.
