God’s Wake Up Call
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. People often ask me why I feel such an urgency to share the Gospel with those who suffer – whether from a broken neck, broken heart, or broken home. Well, the way I look at it, if a person lives a life of suffering while not knowing Jesus, His suffering is just a sad preview of what’s in store on the other side of his tombstone. How awful if a person’s suffering was only a foretaste of worse suffering yet to come in hell. That’s why I tell people that their suffering is God’s wake-up call – pain and disappointment are the Lord’s way of waving red flags, sounding an alarm like, “Wake up! Wake up! How will you spend eternity? How do you respond to Christ?” So, if you know someone who does not know the Savior and is struggling with hardship, suffering or disappointment, tell them to visit joniandfriends.org where they can learn that Jesus is their Rescuer.
