God Took An Oath
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I’m sure you know what it feels like when a trusted friend backs out on his promise. Maybe he’s got a good excuse, a good reason. But still, it hurts. The trust between you and your friend has been damaged, and it won’t be restored easily. Aren’t you grateful, though; aren’t you glad that God will never back out on his promises to you? He has taken a royal oath which can never be broken, and he signed it in the blood of his own Son. For you, in your trials, God’s grace will be sufficient. He will be your ever-present help in every trouble. God will never leave you or forsake you. He will complete in you the work that he’s begun. It is impossible that you, as his child, will be forgotten. God might sooner cease to be than cease to be faithful to you. So, be encouraged this day if you’re struggling. God will never back out on one of his good promises!
