God Is Everything
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and when I say that God is everything to me, I mean it. When I’m filled with sorrow, God is my comfort. When I am weak, he is my tower and strength. When I am hungry for more than this world can give, he’s my bread of heaven. When I’m thirsty because earth doesn’t satisfy, I’m satisfied by Jesus, my Living Water. And in my dark Gethsemane, in the middle of the night when I cannot sleep because of pain, where the load is so heavy to bear, I glance at a picture on my bedroom wall. And it may be in dark shadows, but I can still see it: it’s a beautiful painting of God’s angel of mercy standing over a child in bed. I like to think that child is me, and I’m so glad that God is my daddy; he’s my everything. Are you struggling today? Are you wondering where he is and how he can help? Please know this. The Bible says the Lord is near. So today, let him be everything to you.
