Eat His Words

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and you can sure read strange but wonderful things in the Old Testament. Like in the book of Ezekiel. God says in Ezekiel chapter 3, He says to the prophet, “‘eat this scroll’… so I opened my mouth and He gave me this scroll to eat. And [God] said to me, ‘feed your belly with this scroll that I give you and fill your stomach with it.’ So I ate it, and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey.” Now, that’s strange, but it’s also so wonderful. It’s a striking word picture, and it shows us how critical and necessary His Word is. Just as we are nourished by food every day, God’s Word nourishes our spirit. And so, like Ezekiel, we eat it. Ingestswallow it. Taste and see that the good the Lord is. Because “Man does not live by bread alone,” says Jesus. And if Ezekiel understood that, how much more should we?! So today, see how sweet and fulfilling God’s Word is and bon appétit.
