Drink From The Father’s Cup
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and you should know that when you do God’s will, it’ll invariably involve suffering. But you should also know that suffering while doing God’s will, is the highest expression of your faith in Christ. Because you’re saying He’s worth it. Jesus is worth the pain and inconvenience. It’s why whenever God leads you into a hard place, just say what Jesus said in John chapter 18. Say, “Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?” It’s what your Lord did, so count the cost, pay the price, pick up your cross today, and do God’s will, even if it means a lot of hardship. And should someone question your faith, say to him with boldness, “Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?” Look, the school of suffering graduates exceptional scholars, and you may well be one of them if, today, you follow God when He calls you into that very hard place. I’m Joni Eareckson Tada.
