Don’t Fit The Mold
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. You know, we live in a culture of entitlement and sometimes we Christians want a God who will support our plans, our wants and wishes. When we operate, though, from that perspective, God becomes our “accomplice” (as long as He’s doing what we want). And if He does something else, we want to “un-friend” Him, like others we don’t agree with. Sadly, it shows we are so influenced by our culture. And little wonder that Romans chapter 12 says that our minds need to be transformed. One paraphrase says, “Don’t let the world squeeze you into its own mold.” In short? Hey, stop thinking like the world thinks, like our culture thinks! God’s not your water boy, and He’s not my bellman. The point of our Christian life is to yield to His wants and wishes; to support His plans. So, friend, let’s start thinking like God thinks. Look to His Word today and be transformed.
