Crack & Descend

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. As a child on our family farm, I often followed behind the tractor and sower during planting season. As I watched the seeds drop into the trenches, I could not figure out how a small seed could descend into the dark soil, crack, and grow into a tall stalk of hay. But now, I can see the parallel from John 12 that says, “…unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels.”

Friend, unless you experience suffering and allow Jesus to push you down into a dark place of brokenness, nothing of eternal good will happen in your life. It’s when you humble yourself that you will transform and become a precious blessing to others. So, die to self and let God resurrect you out of that dark place, and soon your life will produce a beautiful harvest.
