Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and my friend Chantal uses a wheelchair and has cerebral palsy. I first met her when she came to Joni and Friends to serve as an intern. “I’m not sure what to do with my life,” she said, “but I know God’s not going to take me anywhere unless I put my sails up. So that’s why I’m here doing an internship.” Now that was maybe, what, eight years ago. And now? This young woman has finished her Masters degree and is involved in establishing Family Retreats in Canada. She’s found what God wants to do with her life, all because she did not sit still but began her journey as an intern with us. She put up her sails and God carried her forward. You know, Jeremiah chapter 29 says that God has a plan for each of our lives.
