I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and several years ago KLM airlines was having a contest to celebrate 75 years of flying. To win, all you had to do was write a 750-word essay telling what you would do with 25 free airline tickets and cargo space for a project that would “Bridge the World.” Well, I wrote my essay about Wheels for the World and described how KLM could help us “bridge the world of disability differences by flying our team and 250 wheelchairs to Ghana, West Africa.” Well, guess what? I ended up winning, and that trip helped lay the foundation for many more visits to Africa through which we’ve delivered thousands of wheelchairs and Bibles. Come visit joniandfriends.org, and see how our Wheels team is still serving in Africa and how you can get involved. We’re taking wheelchairs and Bibles to people who really need the Gospel in a disability ministry that is truly bridging the world.
