Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and for many people, the season of COVID-19 caused a lot of irritability. My friend Mark, who is into brain science, says that our brains operate out of habit, and most of what we do, we do not even think about because our brains just kick in automatically; they take over, and help us when we are floundering. Habits are important to the brain. But during COVID-19, habits and routines were disrupted. And our brains had a hard time; suddenly, they were on overload just trying to keep up. Thankfully, the Holy Spirit is in the job of “renewing the mind,” as it says in Romans chapter 12. So, if this coronavirus has made you irritable, turn to Romans 12. Help your brain operate out of a new habit; ask the Holy Spirit to renew your mind with the Word. It’s a routine that’ll help you trust Christ through this difficult season. I’m Joni Eareckson Tada.
