Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson TadaAs you know, Jesus, in the Gospel of Luke, tells us to daily take up our cross and follow Him. It’s not an easy command, but listen to these encouraging words by Lettie Cowman. She writes, “There are many crosses to bear, and every one is heavy and painful. It is unlikely that I would seek out even one of them on my own. Yet Jesus is never as near to me as when I lift my cross, and lay it submissively on my shoulder, and welcome it with a patient and uncomplaining spirit. Jesus draws close to me in order to mature my wisdom, deepen my peace, increase my courage, and supplement my power. All this He does so that through every experience of bearing a cross that’s painful and distressing, I will be of greater use to others. And in so doing, I will grow under my load.” Today, grow stronger under your cross by helping others bear the load of theirs.
