Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Consuela is a poor, single mother who works the vegetable fields of Mexico. Every day she carries her disabled child, Angela, to work, lifts her off her back, and unfolds a toddler seat she keeps by the side of the field. While Consuela is picking vegetables, she pays the daughter of a fellow field-laborer a few pennies to watch Angela. You can imagine Consuela’s delight when Wheels for the World came to town. She took time off work to bring Angela to be fitted to a brand-new little wheelchair. Tears flowed as her little girl smiled in her new wheelchair. Consuela also received a Bible in Spanish, as well as the chance to embrace Christ as her Savior. And now? Consuela happily (and easily) takes Angela wherever she goes. Want to help families like Consuela’s? Serve on a Wheels for the World team; get all the details at joniandfriends.org.
