An Encouraging Verse

I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Ever stumble upon a Scripture that exactly describes what you’re going through? Well, it happened to me the other evening when I was in bed praying. I was lying there, singing some hymns and interceding for some missionaries I know overseas. Well, while praying, I imagined myself holding a shield to ward off attacks from the devil, and a sword to slice through the darkness of Satan’s kingdom. Well, the next day I stumbled across Psalm 149. And guess what it says? “For the Lord takes delight in his people… let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands.” When I read that it gave me goosebumps. And the best part says that the Lord takes delight in his people who do this. So, friend, sing, intercede and praise the Lord today. It’s the Psalm 149 thing to do.
