A Tight Spot
Have you ever been in a tight spot where you feel completely stuck? Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and when I get in those tight spots, I feel panicky. That’s why the story in Numbers 22 means so much to me. In it, Balaam saddles his donkey and heads down the road with a hedge on one side and a wall on the other. The path becomes tight and small, but then it says, “The angel of the Lord moved on ahead and stood in a narrow place where there was no room to turn, either to the right or to the left.” Well, there it is, your tight spot with nowhere to turn; your difficult place in life, full of impossibilities. But! The angel of the Lord has moved into that place; that is, the very presence of God himself stands in the middle of that impossible situation. So, if you are feeling stuck, look for God to be there, and he will lead you up and out of that tight spot.
