A Sure Foundation
Do you know God’s favorite names for himself? Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I love thinking on the names of the Lord. ’Cause “[t]he name of the Lord is a strong tower,” the Bible says. “The righteous run into it and they are safe.” So, Jesus is the Lord of peace – he keeps us safe in dangerous times. Jesus is the Lord who heals – we are safe in him, whether we battle cancer or quadriplegia. Jesus is a sure foundation – he’s our safety net, even though the world may be giving away. Jesus is provider and protector, keeping us safe through a bad economy. Jesus is our salvation, keeping our souls safe until we get to heaven. Oh, friend, I hope this gives you a taste of how the many names of our great God provide security and safety. ’Cause “[t]he name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and they are safe.” Today, celebrate all that God has given you in his name.
