A Hammer and Chisel
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. You know, it’s hard when God takes a hammer and chisel to sculpt your life – the key, however, is making sure you don’t focus on the hammer and chisel. That’s the way I was for years. I made the mistake of focusing on my suffering, rather than on God the Master sculptor. And when you focus on only your hardships, rather than on the One who’s in charge, your soul can’t help but shrivel. So today, if you are feeling the bite of the chisel and the weight of the hammer, turn your focus to Jesus; He will never cut or gouge too deeply. He promises to be precise.
Remember, 1 Corinthians 10:13 says that no test is beyond the course of what others have had to face. And God will never let you be pushed past your limit; He’ll always be there to help you come through it. And when you do, you will marvel at what God has done in your life and in your character with that hammer and chisel.
