A Frightening Trend
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and a frightening trend is happening in America right now. As government resources for the disabled are becoming more limited, it’s becoming more challenging for people with disabilities to thrive in our society, whether they’re infants or seniors. Many disabled people are despairing and sadly, they are buying into the idea that physician-assisted suicide, well, maybe it should be legalized. All this, while the safeguards supporting the right-to-life of medically fragile people – all those safeguards are eroding. Our country is in desperate need of a biblical worldview on disability that extols the sacredness of life, and the human dignity of all people, no matter how disabled they are. Because, once you dismantle the rights of the weak, and the elderly and the vulnerable, we are all at risk. Help turn around this dangerous trend, would you?
