Join a Wheels for the World Outreach to India!
Each volunteer plays an essential role on a Wheels for the World outreach. Serve with us as a seating therapist, a mechanic, a photographer, or another supporting role. Every team member will directly impact people living with disability in a life-changing way.
What to know about India:
India is a rapidly growing country with a multidimensional culture shaped by several world religions including Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism. The country’s ancient caste system greatly impacts the population’s behaviors and perceptions and there are highly segregated rich and poor classes.
In India people with physical disabilities frequently face discrimination and are sometimes called “untouchables.” On this outreach you will have the opportunity to give the gift of mobility and to demonstrate that Christ’s love is for all people because we share equal value and dignity as God’s image bearers.
Cost and Safety Protocols:
While a license to travel and a visa are required, Joni and Friends will obtain those documents on your behalf. The cost for this outreach is all-inclusive. Outreach costs may vary for applicants outside of the United States. Wheels for the World will adhere to country protocols related to COVID-19, as well as other health and safety requirements.
