Corporate Internship: U.S. Area Ministry Office

January 1, 2027 - December 31, 2027

Working with the Joni and Friends team at a U.S. Ministry office, interns will gain insight into the inner workings of a nonprofit disability ministry environment. Working as part of the Joni and Friends team, interns will gain perspective of our unique culture of integration across our departments and field offices across the country. Interns will be paired with a U.S. Ministry Office, harmonizing their area of interest and skill sets with their assigned position. Every intern at Joni and Friends is granted opportunity to use their gifts and talents to further ministry to people living with disability.

Our desire is that every intern be adopted into the family and culture of Joni and Friends. If you serve with us your internship will not only contain daily tasks and projects, but also intentional times of training and mentorship. Our hope is that this internship will develop you as a leader, helping take you to the next step in God’s journey for your life. Whether you’re pursuing Christian ministry or want to learn how to use your technical skill set to serve the disability community, we want to help you envision your future and meet your goals.

Each internship is designed around the needs of the intern and the availability of the department or office. We do our best to create an internship around your schedule and according to your objectives. However, not all locations have the capacity for an intern during every season.

Interns complete our Beyond Suffering course, a curriculum of the Christian Institute on Disability at Joni and Friends. This core text aims to transform the way Christians view God’s plan for disability and suffering through biblical education on the theology of suffering, with practical application on building disability ministries.
  • Corporate Internships are available on a rolling basis and flexible in length (virtual placements available).
  • The Internship department will facilitate a host home and transportation for the internship, if needed. Interns needing these services should budget around $90/day for their internship costs.
  • *Subsidies are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

College credit may also be available depending on the requirements of your university. If you desire to fulfill a requirement for school, please send all information and internship requirements to [email protected].

“The most impactful part of my internship was the relationship I developed with my area office supervisor. She went above and beyond to make my internship experience great but also was an incredible example of someone working 110% for Jesus. I could not be more thankful for her and her investment in my professional life and walk with the Lord.” Lucy Mustard – Intern, North Carolina U.S. Ministry office
