The Man Born Blind

John 9:1-38
“One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”
John 9:25
Some testimonies are simple enough for anyone to understand.
A man who had been blind from birth met Jesus and regained his sight. What should have been a moment of celebration quickly turned into controversy.
Religious leaders repeatedly questioned him. They doubted his story. They challenged his conclusions. They pressured him to change his testimony.
Yet the man remained steadfast. He did not claim to understand everything. He could not answer every theological question they posed. But he knew what Jesus had done in his life.
“One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!” His honesty is something refreshing.
Many believers worry that they do not know enough to speak about their faith. They feel intimidated by difficult questions or skeptical voices. Yet one of the most powerful forms of witness is simply telling the truth about what Jesus has done.
The man faced mounting opposition. Eventually, he was expelled from the synagogue. Following Jesus cost him something.
Yet he continued to believe.
Persevering faith is not built on having all the answers. It is built on knowing the One who changes lives.
When we face criticism, misunderstanding, or resistance because of our faith, we can remember this man’s example. He remained focused on what he knew to be true.
His circumstances changed. His relationships changed. His standing in the community changed.
But his confidence in Jesus remained.
He couldn’t answer every question they asked. But he knew this: “I was blind. Now I see.” That’s enough.

Literally Living by Faith and Not by Sight
Author, speaker, and Bible teacher, Jennifer Rothschild joins host Stephanie Daniels to share her story of literally walking by faith and not by sight. Since losing her sight at age 15, Jennifer hasn’t let blindness stop her from seeing and sharing God’s goodness.
