DESCRIPTION:Wheels for the World® provides life-changing mobility and the hope of the Gospel to people living with disabilities worldwide. Join a Wheels for the World outreach to Kenya! Each volunteer plays an essential role during a Wheels for the World outreach. Serve with us in a seating therapist\, mechanic\, photographer\, seamstress\, or support role. Every team member will directly impact the lives of people living with disability. \nWhat to know about KenyaKenya is a country in East Africa with coastline on the Indian Ocean and one of the world’s most magnificent wildlife destinations. Kenyan people tend to be friendly with a tender sense of community. Having a disability can limit a citizen’s accessibility to basic resources such as wheelchairs\, walkers\, and canes. People with disabilities in Kenya are likely to live in poverty.. In contemporary Kenya\, Christianity is the most dominant religion; an element of Christianity in Kenya is the use of music\, rhythm\, dancing\, and singing during their worship time.Cost and Safety Protocols\nThe cost for this outreach is all-inclusive and covers round-trip economy airfare from any city within the continental United States\, visas (if required)\, in-country transportation\, shared accommodations (double occupancy) while in-country\, meals while in-country\, and a cultural experience. However\, any pre-outreach vaccination requirements are the responsibility of each individual traveler. Outreach costs may vary for applicants traveling from outside the 48 contiguous United States. Joni and Friends will adhere to country protocols related to health and safety requirements.

DESCRIPTION:Joni and Friends invites women caregivers—mothers\, grandmothers\, other family members\, and friends caring for a loved one living with disability—for a monthly virtual gathering. In a fully accessible camp environment\, families are cared for\, rejuvenated\, and encouraged in Christ. Come enjoy a fun\, Christ-centered environment that is safe and accepting for each member of the family. \nDuring this time of respite\, you will build lasting memories and find renewed hope as you connect with other families who face similar challenges\, take part in accessible activities\, and enjoy opportunities to participate in small groups. Join us for a time of fun and refreshment! \nFamily Cost:\n$550 per personInformation for Volunteers\nIf you are a Christ-follower with a heart to bring help and Gospel hope to people with disabilities\, you can make a powerful hands-on difference by volunteering with us at a Joni and Friends Family Retreat. \nAs a volunteer at Family Retreat\, you will join our team in offering experiences of joy\, rest\, and belonging in the body of Christ. Whether you serve as a one-on-one buddy\, help with crafts\, or lead Bible studies or times of worship\, you will make a lasting difference in the name of Jesus. \n\nNo experience is necessary!
