The heart of the former Mayan civilization has an area approximately the size of Tennessee. While some rights do exist for people living with disabilities in Guatemala\, they fall short in protecting their basic human rights. Because of this\, many families living with disability are abandoned\, neglected\, or treated with disrespect and abuse. On this outreach\, we will reach out to people living with disability in the country of Guatemala\, distributing Bibles\, wheelchairs\, and other mobility equipment. Over 18% of Costa Ricans live with a disability and oftentimes face discrimination\, prejudice\, and a lack of education and employment. In fact\, over half of Costa Ricans living with disabilities are unemployed. Nearly 10% of the people in the Brazilian population live with a disability and many are confined to their homes due to the shame felt by their families and a lack of affordable mobility equipment. Additionally\, people living with disabilities are often neglected by Brazilian society and there is little to no initiative in creating accessibility for them. On this outreach you will have the opportunity to meet people who feel forgotten and trapped by poverty and offer hope by sharing God’s love and care for them. Join our team and use your gifts to work alongside our Brazilian partners to provide wheelchairs and Bibles to individuals living with disabilities.
